Dartmoor Vertical Assault & Survival Package

Join us in one of the Royal Marines Commando's primary training areas for a unique, multi-day experience, where we teach, coach and task you to undertake a series of challenging, adventurous and fun activities synonymous with the Corp's Elite Mountain Leader (ML) Cadre. 

Tasking

Our mission is to deliver a once in a life-time memorable experience for you and your team, as we introduce, coach and challenge you across a series of tasks that test and build nerve, confidence, adaptability, perseverance, communication and team cohesion. 

This package is a proven concept that we have had the pleasure of delivering to corporate teams, sports clubs and coaching communities alike. 

Dartmoor offers us the perfect training ground in the same way that it has served the Royal Marines for more than 200 years. Alongside our other operating areas including Norway, Scotland & North Wales, Dartmoor provides us with a challenging yet picturesque landscape that allows us to host our Mountain Leader Training packages that involve activities in otherwise inaccessible terrain and natural obstacles like Tors, Rivers, Crags, rolling Hills, Wetlands and Open Countryside.

Abseil / Rappel

Jump out of your comfort zone, build confidence and manage your fear by introducing innovative psychological and physiological techniques as you step out over exposed edges and descend rock features of various heights and difficulty.

Wire Ladders

Ascend otherwise inaccessible rock features using an advanced and challenging technique used by Royal Marines Mountain Leaders and Special Forces Operators

Tyrolean Traverse

Tackle uncrossable features such as rivers and quarries with fast flowing water or dizzying heights beneath you using a series of traverses such as zip lines, tryoleans or the postman's walk.

Climbing

Experience a different kind of challenging ascent, this time on rock features that offer limited hand-holds and foot placements. Build confidence and technical proficiency as you use Royal Marines' Cliff Assault techniques that have been taught by the Mountain Leader cadre since the second world war.

Fire Lighting

Learn effective firelighting techniques using natural resources and methods that would life-saving in a survival situation. Take part in individual competitions or work as a team as you implement the strategies we teach you in an educational but fun environment.

Navigation

Learn and implement intermediate and advanced navigational methods as we tackle scenic but challenging terrain across Dartmoor's expanse of open Moorland. Tackle various forms of hardship be that in weather conditions, type of terrain, distance, load carriage or navigational complexity.

Resources & Shelter

Learn and practise the other essential elements of survival including shelter building, foraging, water collection and cooking. Construct natural shelters, collect food & water from the land, or learn how to process and cook fish, rabbits or chickens as taught by survival experts amongst Royal Marines Mountain Leaders and S.E.R.E Instructors.

About Us

Cadre is a team made up of highly experienced professionals, all of which are Royal Marines veterans and mountaineers, each holding qualifications and time served working amongst high performing teams within the military and professional sport settings. Amongst our instructors are current and former Royal Marines Commandos with a vast amount of experience, some of which operating within the Royal Marines Mountain Leader Cadre, and sports professionals including S&C Coaches, Psychologists and Performance Directors. 

 

Cadre specialises in developing physical and mental performance whilst using the mountainous environment as it’s vehicle to help individuals and groups develop their skillset in key areas including;

 

resilience, teamwork, collaboration, communication, confidence, trust, culture, self-belief, stress management, discipline, administration, energy, well-being and enthusiasm.

Accomodation

Should your team require it, we can organise local accommodation and food provisions at various sights that we recommend near to our operating area for the package. Alternatively, we can also incorporate wild camping as part of your experience.
